Summer Reading List
(for the 2011-2012 school year)
Each of our lower school students is assigned required summer reading, much like our middle and upper divisions. The books are age/grade appropriate, and give our new and returning students something to enjoy together when the school year begins.
Research continually shows that reading over the summer keeps students’ brains in shape and allows them to start the school year running. In the long run, how much students read independently can be a determining factor in high school standardized test scores and college entrance exams.
The required reading books are listed by the grade students will be entering in the fall:
