A Greener Heritage
In an effort to coordinate its "green" efforts across campus, Heritage Hall has created a Green Committee comprised of administration, faculty, and students. Co-chairs are Nick Carter and Genifer Ring. The Green Committee's mission is to raise eco-awareness in all Divisions as appropriate to age and stage and make recommendations toward school-driven initiatives that include:
- Ongoing environmental education through special programs, speakers and initiatives
- Enhanced recycling programs across all divisions
- Acting as an advisory committee that reviews “greening” the HH curriculum, energy use, consumption, and conservation across campus
- The culmination each year in an Earth Day assembly that involves all divisions through sharing educational projects, presentations on eco-practices and facts, and targeted fundraising
Recycling for Technology
When faculty, students, and patrons donate used cell phones and empty laser and inkjet printer cartridges, they not only help the environment; they also help Heritage Hall get cash or credit to buy new technology through the Funding Factory.
