Admission Process

Admission at every grade level is based on the following:

  • Results of standardized admission testing
  • Previous school records and transcipts
  • Teacher recommendations
  • Information obtained during an interview or school visit

Students are admitted according to academic potential, developmental readiness, and the ability to contribute to a diverse class environment.

Admission Requirements

  • Preschool applicants must be three years of age by September 1st.  The preschool program is designed to have two, three, or five half- or whole-day options.
  • Pre-K applicants must be four years old by September 1st.  We require that Pre-K students attend a minimum of five half-days (mornings only). Pre-K students wanting to attend whole-days have two-, three-, or five-day options.
  • Lower School (K-4th grade) applicants must be at least five years of age by September 1st.  Kindergarten is an all-day program.
  • Middle School students are in grades 5-8.
  • Upper School includes grades 9-12.

Sports Eligibility

Heritage Hall is a member of the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OSSAA) for student athletes in grades 7-12.  Transfer students are immediately eligible for junior varsity competition.  The rules of the OSSAA state that a student who transfers from one school to another in grades 9-12 becomes eligible for varsity athletic participation only after attending a member school for two full semesters.  For more information about specific eligibility situations, please contact the Admission Office.

How to Apply

  • Submit completed application form, a picture of the applicant, and a $35.00 non-refundable application fee.  The fee includes the cost of admission testing.
  • Attend Open House if your schedule permits.  See dates at Important Dates
  • Schedule a day visit for your child to "shadow" a Heritage Hall student, if applying for grades 5-12.  We believe the visit is one of the best ways to get a sense of the school.
  • Schedule admission testing.  If the group testing dates for students applying for grades 5-10 are not convenient or dates have already passed, then the Admission office will schedule on an individual basis.  Testing for students in PS-4th grade is conducted on an individual basis.  After receiving your application, the admission office will call to arrange a test date.
  • Forward teacher recommendation forms once completed by your child’s teacher(s).  One recommendation form is required for Lower School applicants, while English and math teacher recommendations are required for Middle and Upper School applicants.
  • Student interviews will be scheduled through the admission office.  This can be coordinated with the testing day, the tour, or the day visit for applicants to grades 5-12.

*Special accommodations will be made for out-of-town applicants.
