Heritage Hall's visual art courses enhance the core academic curriculum and broaden the scope and vision of students. The visual and tactile arts teach the student to see and respond to the natural world, to see things differently from ways they have before, and to use hand and eye coordination to transform those observations into a two or three-dimensional interpretation. A beginning course, Foundations of Art, introduces a student to all the processes available to them and is required for all first-time visual art students. Whether a particular elective is offered during a given semester depends on course enrollment and staffing.
In the more advanced art classes like Ceramics, 3-D Design, Photography, and Studio Art, students are encouraged to submit art creations to local contests like the Young Talent in Oklahoma (YTO) contest. To see the latest entries, click on the links below.
