Researching Dates in History
The following links will help students locate information on the Internet regarding specific days and years in history. These could be used to find events in ones own life as well as historical events throughout time.
The MS/US Library also has several books on each decade that could help you get started on your research.
There are many excellent websites for studying the decades of United States History. I searched the U.S. History section of the Virtual Learning Resources Center (http://www.virtuallrc.com

offers a free online encyclopedia, almanac, atlas, biographies, dictionary, thesaurus and more.
Enter the date or event and Infoplease will know to look in the almanac for everything from world events to sports to economics to people who died that year. The Internet Public Library
(IPL), is a public service organization and learning/teaching environment at the University of Michigan School of Information. In the Search bar type in the event or year to be searched. Librarians' Index to the Internet
offers websites you can trust related to many areas of curriculum and life. Enter "1990 events" in the "all fields" search bar and a listing of all areas of life connected to that year are yours to search. Encarta Encyclopedia online
offers a search in the areas of timelines free. An Annotation with each entry allows reviews for further research. Scope Systems
