President's Message

Welcome to Heritage Hall

"To inspire in each child the curiosity TO LEARN, the self-confidence TO LEAD, and the compassion TO SERVE."

The first time I read the Heritage Hall Mission Statement, I wondered if it amounted to more than words on paper. I tried to get a feel for the answer to that question during my first visits to campus. I am proud to say that I have never been around an educational institution that does more to follow and instill its mission into the daily lives of students, faculty, and staff.

All of us can recite examples of outstanding student learning and leadership. However, I would like to preview this theme of service that emerges throughout the 2023 issue of the Charger Call. We will continue to work to embed the spirit of service into every young Charger and here is why: because we believe it is at the foundation of our mission. In the 2023 issue, you’ll read about several members of the Heritage Hall faculty and staff whose dedication to the community is a reminder that service to others is the worthiest of lifelong pursuits.

Author and entrepreneur Tim Fargo noted that “Leadership is service, not position.” If our Chargers are To Learn and To Lead, they must serve from a place of compassion and selflessness.

We believe that service is an integral piece of the Charger experience, and we always look to do more and do so more efficiently. We continue to take a thorough look at our service programs across all three divisions and work to make those programs impactful outside our gates. Most importantly, we will always strive to ensure that service makes a tremendous impact on the leadership development of our students.

Onward, Chargers!
