Heritage Hall Special Events

POSTPONED: Heritage Hall/Casady Speaker Series: "Vaping and Adolescents"

Location: MS - Howard Theatre - 126HT
THIS EVENT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR A LATER DATE.

Heritage Hall and Casady will co-host a joint Parent University discussion on Vaping and Adolescents led by a panel of health experts from OU Adolescent Medicine and the Oklahoma County Health Department. Patrons, faculty, and staff are strongly encouraged to attend and invite interested adult family and friends.

The surge in e-cigarette use (juuling, vaping) has become a phenomenon among youth and a significant challenge to schools across the nation. Nicotine exposure during adolescence can harm the developing brain, adversely affecting learning, memory, and attention.

Presentation highlights:
  • The most recent research related to e-cigarette use
  • How this national epidemic is impacting adolescents
  • Insights on how to reach our students and children and help them make healthy life choices
Effectively educating children to become self-reliant, resilient, and healthy requires close collaboration between patrons, teachers, and administrators.

Heritage Hall's partnership with OU Adolescent Medicine is part of our ongoing efforts to provide information on child and adolescent topics and issues and will continue as a branch of our existing Parent University courses
