HH Explore Offers Range of Experiences

During the HH Explore Fair last October, Upper School students met with Explore course sponsors to learn more about domestic and global excursions, adventures closer to home, and on-campus courses. At that time, no one could have imagined how different the world would be five months later.

As Explore Week (March 9-13) drew closer, travel restrictions and safety concerns mounted while the coronavirus began its rapid progression across the U.S. and around the world. After closely monitoring CDC and local government recommendations, school leaders canceled all out-of-state travel. In response, sponsors of affected courses quickly went to work planning alternate Explore experiences for students.

The global change of events didn’t diminish the outcome of HH Explore, however. Students in grades 5-12 learned about exotic animals, how to bake, sew, and build rockets. They explored Oklahoma’s geology and Native American culture and history, discovering personal interests, new disciplines, and broadening their perspectives.
