The Board of Trustees hosts an annual event and auction to build the School’s Master Teacher Endowment and to increase support for faculty without resorting to increases in tuition. In doing so, Heritage Hall can attract and retain leading teachers who excel at challenging, engaging and inspiring our students. Passionate teaching is fundamental to the Heritage Hall experience, and the event’s net proceeds enable the School to bring the best and brightest teachers into our classrooms.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – The Heritage Hall Board of Trustees hosted more than 500 guests for its annual gala fundraising event and auction on Saturday, April 6 at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club.

Chaired by Heritage Hall alumni, Brian Bogert ’95, Jenny Gray Ferguson ’96, and Heather Verity Showalter ’95, Gala 2019: Heart of Gold recognized Heritage Hall’s teachers as the “heart of the school,” while commemorating the school’s “golden” anniversary. The independent school, founded in 1969, is observing its 50th year of operation with several events scheduled throughout 2019.

Heritage Hall alumna and ABC News anchor Erielle Reshef ’01 emceed the Heart of Gold event. In addressing the audience, Reshef confided, “I still get butterflies as I head out to the set for Good Morning America, prep for a live shot for World News, or emcee a big event, but nothing is more anxiety-producing than standing in a room packed with my Heritage Hall family, hoping I make you proud and do justice on the teachers’ big night!”

Following a seated dinner, silent and live auctions, the celebration continued well into the evening with “Party on the Moon,” a 13-piece band from Atlanta.

Net proceeds from the resoundingly successful event will benefit the School’s faculty through a Master Teacher Endowment and other faculty enrichment which allow the school to attract and retain exceptional teachers.

Heart of Gold was also supported by grand benefactors Cory and David Le Norman, Shelley and Leland Welker, Anna and Wes Welker ’00, and Sarah Holder Welker ’97 and Lee Welker ’95.

LeNorman and Welker Families - 2019 Heart of Gold Benefactors

We gratefully acknowledge the LeNorman and Welker families as grand benefactors of the 2019 Gala: Heart of Gold, Heritage Hall’s annual fundraiser to support the School’s teacher bonuses and the Teacher Endowment Fund.
Both families share a deep appreciation for our faculty and staff at Heritage Hall. As Heart of Gold sponsors, supporters like the LeNormans and the Welkers directly contribute to the School’s ability to attract and retain the best and brightest teachers for Heritage Hall students.
“The LeNorman and Welker families represent a cross section of donors to the School,” David Le Norman said. “That is, alumni who have enjoyed the benefits of a Heritage Hall education and want the same experience for future generations, and parents who wisely chose Heritage Hall to give their children the best chance at future success.”
Both families have long standing relationships with the Chargers. David and Cory LeNorman are parents of Quincy LeNorman '21, and Leland and Shelly Welker are parents of Wes '00 and Anna Welker and Lee '95 and Sarah Bancroft Welker '97 and grandparents of Carter and Caroline Welker and Hallie, Rex and Cal '25 Welker.
We hope that you will consider following the lead of these two families by supporting our faculty with a sponsorship donation to the 2019 Gala: Heart of Gold, commemorating Heritage Hall’s 50th Anniversary.
