Heritage Hall Alumni Association (HHAA) Selects Craig Brown '78 for the 2016 Distinguished Faculty Award

The HHAA Distinguished Faculty Award honors a current faculty member who has exhibited dedication and commitment to inspiring and educating lifelong learners. The 2016 award was presented to Middle School Dean of Students Craig Brown '78.
Presenting the award on behalf of the HHAA, Ted Perry '01 paid tribute to Brown's longevity at Heritage Hall. "Over the past 35 years, Craig Brown has influenced the lives of thousands of Chargers, including mine," he stated. "Outside of my family, Craig was one of the earliest influences on my character. On multiple occasions, he taught me real life lessons on choosing the harder right over the easier wrong."
Visibly moved by the honor, a surprised Brown thanked the alumni association. "I'm extremely honored to be included in a group of outstanding educators such as past winners Dr. John Powell and Betsy Horn. It's especially humbling when I consider all of the fine faculty members who work at this remarkable school," Brown said. "I appreciate the alumni for acknowledging the work we do. It's gratifying to be recognized for doing a job where, on a daily basis, I am able to interact with amazing students and watch them grow and develop into young, successful adults," he concluded.
