Mark Kelly Swarts, age 29, died Feb. 4, 1989 in Los Angeles, CA. He was born May 8, 1959 in OKC. Mark grew up & spent most of his life in OKC where he attended Belle Isle Elementary School & Heritage Hall, where he graduated from high school in 1977.
SWARTS Mark Kelly, age 29, died Feb. 4, 1989 in Los Angeles, CA. He was born May 8, 1959 in OKC. Mark grew up & spent most of his life in OKC where he attended Belle Isle Elementary School & Heritage Hall, where he graduated from high school in 1977. He was active in Boy Scouts & YMCA wrestling when younger, & kept most of those friends throughout his life. In high school, he was editor of the school newspaper & active in drama, & was talented enough to win several awards & continued to win the hearts of friends & relatives with his wit & humor until his death.
Mark attended Claremont Men's College in Pomona, CA & graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in English in 1983. He was currently working for ITT Financial Services in Burbank & had written short stories for local newspapers while in California. He is survived by his father & mother, Russell & Gloria Swarts, 2 sisters & 1 brother-in-law, Libby Swarts & Suzanne & Dan Powell of OKC, 2 nieces & 1 nephew, Angie Powell of Borger, TX, Katy & Ross Powell of OKC, a maternal grandmother, Odessa Kelly of Carnegie & maternal great grandmother, Goldia Kelly of OKC, as well as a host of friends & relatives. Mark suffered from epilepsy since his teenage years, and the family requests contributions to the Epilepsy Foundation in lieu of flowers. Arrangements pending with HAHN-COOK/STREET & DRAPER FUNERAL HOME. Services will be held in the Nichols Hills United Methodist Church.
