Special Projects

Exciting things are happening on campus this year! Through the Annual Fund for Heritage Hall, several special projects got underway to enhance and secure our campus environment.

Just as we count on parents, trustees, alumni, grandparents, faculty/staff members, and parents of alumni to support the Annual Fund to meet the needs of Chargers in the classroom, we’re counting on you to help make these special campus projects possible. We hope you’ll consider boosting your support to include one or more of the following projects:

Campus Safety and Security: Enhanced Building Security Measures

Heritage Hall strives to provide the safest measures possible for our learning environment. Just as we make it possible to control vehicle access onto campus, it is equally important to control access into our buildings. While locked doors, visitor call boxes, cameras, and authorized credentials for access are worthwhile barriers, there is more we can do. Reinforcing our glass door entries and windows on all buildings with a specially engineered security film can delay a forced entry by minutes instead of seconds, allowing responders essential time to respond. That, in addition to a weapons detection system with technology above and beyond any traditional metal detector, will enhance our safety at critical entry points on campus. Total estimated cost: $80-100K
Campus Safety and Security: Front Gate Automation

Front gate automation will complete the final stage for controlled access at all public vehicle entry gates onto campus. Much like the two back entry gates along NW 115th Street, the main gate at NW 122nd Street will have automatic openers, cameras, Pikepass® and credential readers, in addition to a video call box with directory to all divisions, administration, and security. Additionally, for vehicles that don’t have an Oklahoma Turnpike Authority-issued Pikepass® registered in our access control system, there will be an option to purchase Pikepass® reader stickers that exclusively provide authorized access onto campus, allowing for all gates to remain closed throughout the school day for the safety of our students and faculty/staff. Total estimated cost: $85-$90K
Playgrounds

The three playgrounds at the Lower School are a valuable asset and an important part of learning, exercise, and fun for our youngest Chargers. Our recent replacement of the old rock pebbles and troublesome tire mulch with artificial turf for the smaller playground has been a good start in addressing the needed updates for our aging playgrounds. The ECC outdoor classroom playground is in desperate need of similar turf and playground equipment. The large playground has seen its best days – it’s decades old, constructed with wood and screws, and situated in a less than ideal location. A new ECC playground and a new large playground, relocated with secured access behind the Lower School, will be a daily attraction for our students and faculty. Total estimated cost: ECC - $150K Large Playground - $400K
Marquees

Our outdoor marquee displays at the main entrance by the Lower School and at the back entrance near the Upper School were originally installed to provide helpful information, reminders, events, and even birthday wishes to many. Powered by updated technology, our new marquees will feature high quality color video displays with the robust functionality of our athletic scoreboards. Just like our recent scoreboard replacements, these marquees will be bigger and better. Total estimated cost: $115-$120K
